Windowsill Garden is Growing

As we have limited space in our garden, I decided to try growing some herbs on my windowsill this year. We have a wonderful window in our kitchen that is very sunny and I hope it will be perfect for this purpose. Last weekend I planted parsley, thyme, basil, cilantro and chives and as of yesterday, all five had showed their little green heads! I just love that I can be doing dishes AND be admiring my little herbs too.
Have you had any luck growing herbs indoors?

  1. Cute pot holder thingy! I had never grown herbs inside until this year and they are doing so much better than anything I've tried outside. I only have basil, but I love having it for sauces and soups. I think I'll have to invest in a few more things.

  2. I keep my herbs inside for the winter and out all summer. They definitely don't do as well indoors (but I don't have any super-sunny windows to put them in either). My mother grows beautiful basil on her windowsill. Good lcuk! It is so wonderful to have fresh herbs on hand (and sometimes you can smell them why you do the dishes too!)
